The Copper Queen Library (CQL), founded in 1882, is Arizona’s longest continuously operated public library. In 2019, the Library Journal named it the Best Small Library in America. In 2024, it was awarded the National Medal for Museum and Library Service, the nation’s highest honor for public libraries. Open to patrons and visitors, the CQL is Bisbee’s community hub and the anchor of its Arts and Culture District.
