Elliott Night

FOUND OBJECT ASSEMBLAGE

 

Elliott Night is an outsider artist living and creating art in Bisbee.  She works with found objects, paints, fibers, metal, plastic, vintage and shiny new things to create dolls and hanging sculpture. 

Mimi Elliott’s philosophy is that “Everything is an art supply” from wooden spindles to detergent caps to potato mashers, dead frogs,  to broken weed wacker parts… pristine canvases make her nervous…the joy comes from taking a cast off from someone’s dumpster or yard sale and  transforming it into a “what does it mean?” piece of art. 

Elliott teaches art classes at CochiseCommunity College’s Lifetime Learning program her favorite class being the“Kitchen Sink Collage” class where students create a work of art in 4 short hours.
